SINGAPORE, [November 15, 2023] — Amid stiff competition, leading robotics technology company AutoStore has been named Supply Chain Automation Partner of the Year at the Supply Chain Asia Awards 2023. Steering away from profit and turnover, the award was clinched based on the decisions made by an internal panel of the appointed award committee, council members, and selected senior professionals.

“It's only been since the middle of last year that we established our own office here in Singapore, allowing us to expand our team and support structure,” said Philipp Schitter, Vice President of Business Development Asia Pacific, Managing Director Singapore at AutoStore. “It truly is an honor to be named the Supply Chain Automation Partner of the Year.”

AutoStore has been named Supply Chain Automation Partner of the Year at the Supply Chain Asia Awards 2023.

The award, which was received by Philipp at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel on November 3, is a testament to AutoStore’s approach to innovation and service excellence within Asia. The Norway technology pioneers have grown from strength to strength within the region after their installation in Singapore in 2022. This award recognizes AutoStore’s proven success through industry leadership and operational excellence within Asia.

“Today we have 115 installations all over Asia Pacific aiding our mission to help Asia's supply chains become more efficient, reduce their environmental footprint, and enhance quality. We are committed to making a positive impact, and this award reinforces our commitment to that cause.” says Philipp Schitter, Vice President of Business Development Asia Pacific & Managing Director Singapore, AutoStore.

In line with innovating and continuing operational excellence, AutoStore announced the introduction of the R5 Pro Robot on October 23, the latest version of the proven R5 Robot amid growing demand for large, high throughput systems in logistics.

Designed with an LTO (Lithium-Titanium Oxide) battery that allows rapid charging, the R5 Pro Robot improves an individual Robot’s availability during multishift operations and allows for up to 86% fewer chargers compared to the previous generation R5 Robot.

With only 1 charger needed for 10 Robots, the reduced number of chargers improves storage density by freeing up space around the Grid where warehouses can add Bin capacity for more SKUs. Fewer chargers also translate into a smaller and less costly electrical infrastructure. This leads to more efficient use of warehouse space or reducing the required footprint—all while improving efficiency and aiding with sustainability goals.

Additionally, AutoStore users also won during the gala dinner—with DHL and Fairprice Group Supply Chain Bagging awards, showcasing a thriving technological ecosystem fit for the modern-day demands of the supply chain. Just this week, DHL Supply Chain and AutoStore announced a partnership expansion to further automate global warehousing, where a fleet of over 1,000 robots has significantly boosted operational efficiency and throughput in DHL’s fulfillment warehouses.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the entire supply chain community for their support and trust in our capabilities,” concluded Philipp. “We promise to continue being a reliable, stable, and innovative technology partner in the years to come.”
